Grant Review Process
Our grant review process is intended to encourage ideas and proposals from the health and wellness sector.
As a grant seeker the following questions should be considered
-
Is the proposed project likely to continue and expand after the grant period?

Is the Health Foundation of Greater Massillon support vital or catalytic to the project's success?
-
Is the use of funds innovative and efficient?
-
Is the project a well-planned approach promoting physical, emotional and mental health (being mindful of our Mission Statement)?
-
Is the project promoting cooperation among agencies without duplication of services?
-
Are expenses reduced by sharing resources with other entities or groups?
ELIGIBILITY
Grants are made to entities recognized as tax-exempt charities under 50l (C) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The Health Foundation of Greater Massillon normally does not approve grants to support the following:
-
Ongoing operating expenses
-
Annual appeals or membership drives
-
Fundraising projects
-
Religious organizations for religious purposes
-
Travel for individuals or groups( if that were the primary focus )
-
Capital campaigns
-
Endowment funds
-
Individuals or groups
-
Lobbying activities
GRANT MAKING DECISION PERIOD
Grants are awarded semi-annually. An eleven member volunteer Distribution Committee, supported by our professional staff, reviews and discusses each proposal submitted.
